How we send email
Last updated 1 September 2026
Send & Save only emails people who asked to hear from a venue. This page explains how guests join a list, how they leave, and what happens when mail cannot be delivered.
What we send
Venues using Send & Save send two kinds of email:
- Updates they asked for: campaigns and automations such as a welcome, an event, or an offer, sent only to guests who opted in
- Account messages: things like confirming a signup or confirming an unsubscribe
This is guest email for pubs, restaurants, and similar venues, not cold outreach. Campaigns and automations use the venue’s From address on sendandsave.com. Guest replies go to the venue’s verified reply address, which can be a personal inbox such as Gmail. Signup confirms and other account mail use hello@sendandsave.com so marketing and transactional mail stay distinct. From addresses are never no-reply@.
How people join the list
- A public form (link, QR code, website, or Wi‑Fi page) with a clear consent tick
- Another system the venue already uses, connected through our API, where the venue has already collected consent
- A spreadsheet import, only after the venue confirms those people have already said yes to marketing email
Forms ask the guest to confirm by email before they are added (you can turn this off on a form). Until they confirm, they are not sent campaigns. Role addresses such as postmaster@ or abuse@ are rejected. We do not buy, scrape, or rent lists, and we do not support emailing people who never opted in.
Who we will not email
Campaigns and automations only go to subscribed guests. We skip anyone who is unsubscribed, still waiting to confirm, or blocked after a bounce or complaint.
Unsubscribe
Every marketing email includes a visible unsubscribe link, plus links to our privacy policy and terms. The campaign cannot be sent without those. Gmail and Yahoo also get a one-click unsubscribe control. Public URL shorteners (bit.ly and similar) are blocked.
Either path stops marketing mail from that venue immediately. Guests can also update their preferences, or ask for their details to be removed, from the same links.
Bounces and complaints
If an address hard-bounces, or someone marks a message as spam, we stop marketing email to that person immediately and do not retry. Signup confirms and similar account mail can still go after a spam complaint. Demo events are not counted in bounce or complaint rates.
If an organisation’s bounce or complaint rate gets too high, we pause that organisation’s sending (campaigns, tests, and automations). Other organisations on Send & Save are not affected.
Sending domains
Each venue sends from its own address on sendandsave.com (the venue name as the local part). One organisation cannot send as another. We do not send from personal inboxes such as Gmail or Hotmail.
If you later verify a custom domain, keep the WHOIS contact details accurate and do not send marketing from a domain you do not control.
What we do not allow
- Purchased, scraped, or borrowed lists
- Emails to people who did not opt in
- Misleading subject lines, phishing, or illegal content
- Using Send & Save as a bulk email service for unrelated industries
Breaking these rules can pause sending or close the account. See our terms.
Report a problem
If you received mail you did not sign up for, forward it to hello@sendandsave.com and we will stop mail to that address and look into the venue.
